Also, Mehmet Can Soyulmaz, EBSCO Regional Sales Manager, spoke on the second day of the workshop and explained how to select printed and electronic books using GOBI software. He also discussed the criteria that should be applied in collection development.

In his speech, Serkan İpekçi, responsible for Cyprus Region, provided information about the HyperBook database containing thousands of Turkish e-books and shared the content and advantages of the database with the participants.

Gülten Sala Lay, CIU Library Director, said library users actively use their databases both on-campus and off-campus and that the company officials visiting from Turkey provide CIU the opportunity to try out their databases.

Lay also mentioned that researchers’ access to international electronic information sources increased the production of national and international scientific publications through databases provided through TÜBİTAK EKUAL Project and subscription.

The event ended with the presentation of certificates of gratitude to EBSCO Regional Sales Manager Mehmet Can Soyulmaz and Hyperlink Cyprus Regional Officer Serkan İpekçi by Gülten Sala Lay, the CIU Library Director.
